RavenDB

RavenDB is a document database that keeps ACID transactions while storing each entity as a JSON document with server-side indexes, so queries do not have to scan collections. It adds full-text search through Lucene indexes, spatial queries, and distributed map-reduce and aggregation for work that spans many nodes.

Teams use it for content management, catalogue and pricing data, and event-style workloads where documents are flexible but durability is not negotiable.

Hosting it yourself keeps the document store on infrastructure you control, and its snapshot-based backups make scheduled copies and restores a routine operation.
