OpenClaw
An open-source assistant platform that puts an AI agent into the chat apps you already use, connecting Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack and Signal to a gateway you control. The gateway holds sessions, memory and credentials locally, drives tools like browsing, file handling and shell commands, and runs on a laptop or as a shared team service.
People use it to keep a personal assistant reachable from whichever chat app they have open, and teams share one instance for routine automation such as triaging mail.
Self-hosting means the memory and the conversations it sees stay on your machines, there is no hosted tier to subscribe to, and the configuration is simple to back up.
