Nginx
A high performance HTTP server that doubles as a reverse proxy, load balancer and mail proxy, built on an event-driven architecture that handles many concurrent connections with modest memory. It serves static files, rewrites and caches requests, proxies WebSocket, gRPC and HTTP/2 or HTTP/3 backends, and extends through a large module ecosystem with njs scripting.
Administrators choose it as the front door for a busy site, the ingress layer for container platforms, or the proxy in front of app servers.
Hosting it yourself means no upstream provider sits between your users and your applications, throughput is not billed per request, and the config is backed up with your stack.
