FileBrowser

A single binary web file manager written in Go that gives a directory of files a browser interface with per-user accounts and permissions. It handles uploads and downloads, in-browser editing, renaming, copying, searching, thumbnails, previews of common media types, share links and a JSON API, and the configuration can be kept as code for repeatable deployments.

It is a common choice for a home lab NAS or a small team that wants something simpler than the heavier desktop style file managers.

Self-hosting means the file tree, the user database and the shares all live on your own disk, and on your own infrastructure the whole thing restores from a copy of the database plus the underlying storage.
